Day 1 of 24 Days With Phi: Getting the Christmas Tree!

Because of my ‘slight’ obsession with Christmas and all things festive, I decided that for every day leading up to Christmas I am going to post a blog post, to put everyone in the same holiday spirit as me!

Being a Christmas lover I was so excited by the prospect of this challenge I had given myself, I just had to do it! (I had too many ‘christmassy’ blog post ideas).

SO today marks Day 1 of the 24 Days with Phi (That’s me!).

Day 1:

To kick off the Day’s with Phi I decided to head a route that would be recognizable to those who celebrate Christmas, and that is the day you get the Christmas Tree!

My family has always gotten the Christmas tree Thanksgiving weekend, so you can trot around the Christmas tree fields with stomachs full of mashed potatoes, stuffing, collard greens etc.

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving we decided to get our Christmas tree at a christmas farm close to our relatives house. We decided before getting the tree we better stop in and catch up with family! However, this meant that after visiting and driving for a lot of the day that we just weren’t in the mood to go cut down a tree (which I desperately wanted to do). But I was determined to get a tree that day so on the way home we stopped at Whole foods who happen to have a great deal of 50$ for a pre-cut 7-8 ft tree! You can’t beat that!

So we choose our tree and headed on home.

Because my family know how much I love to decorate the tree and create a surprise for the entire family once it is complete, they decided to leave the decorating to me!

Christmas Tree Decorating Routine:

What I always do before beginning to decorate is get into some comfy PJ’s.

(This onesie is from Abercrombie and Fitch, from last year)

Then I make sure to grab a cup of tea and set up a Christmas movie (I chose Elf, one of my faves!)

After that I string the lights up first, with the help of my family!

Then the best part! I personally like to follow a color theme and then begin to add the decorations! This year I went for a silver and gold theme 🙂

After the tree is complete you can sit back and enjoy the beautiful glistening lights and ornaments!

Hope you enjoyed the post and I hope you have the best time getting festive for the holidays to come! I have so many exciting posts to come and I can’t wait to share them with you, have a great day!

A new post will be coming out tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that etc. up till Christmas! So stay tuned for some festive vibes!

Thank you!
