New York Eats: Foodie Paradise

Ahhhh New York City. Paradise for fashion, innovation, technology and off course FOOD!

I stopped by a few delicious restaurants in New York City and I thought I would share them with you!

Ellary’s Greens:

I tried out this restaurant on my first night here. Having heard a lot about this Soho hotspot for healthy eating I was ecstatic to get to try it.

The restaurant is quaint and cute and sells “Local, organic, sexy, healthy” food, and let me tell you it was delicious.

What I ordered:  We shared the hummus and pita as appetizer. And I had the Tuscan Kale salad as entree – which is made with faro-tabouleh, feta and hummus vinaigrette. It was possibly the best kale I have ever had… it was delicious! Highly recommend the salad and Ellary’s greens.

Hu Kitchen:

I had heard SO much about Hu Kitchen (specifically their chocolate) so I knew I had to try it and I am so glad I did. Again it’s another healthy option for those looking for paleo, vegan or gluten-free food.

I LOVED Hu Kitchen- it met all expectations (and they were high). The restaurant itself is very down to earth, many of the customers had come straight from the gym. It was perfectly casual eating.

What I ordered:  I had the Vegetarian White Bean Chili, it was very warm and comforting and of course- delicious! I also shared a side of roasted sweet potatoes and they were AMAZING a definite must try (I am a sweet potato fanatic and I think these are some of the best!). What I recommend most is their chocolate, though it may be a little pricey, it is DELICIOUS! I tried the Hazelnut Butter and Dark Chocolate – it was spectacular and definitely did not taste vegan or paleo!

Spring Street Natural:

This was the only place I had researched on my own and wasn’t recommended by anyone- and it was SO good!

This place is a little bigger than both Ellary’s Greens and Hu Kitchen so you get a little more elbow room. We ate outside- and out of all the other restaurants this was the only one where you could! The spot is super cute with metal chairs and fairy lights and a blue tile facade!

What I Ordered: We had the pita and hummus (yet again) as appetizer. And as entree I had the Mahi-Mahi Fish tacos and shared a side of sweet potato fries and the ginger lemonade. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS. I highly recommend both the place and the food I ate- yet again! What we really noticed here was how big the portions are- I only ate one of the tacos and highly recommend sharing!

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Let me know in the comments any other places I should check out and if you are planning to try these out!

Carpe Diem.
